Metiria Turei Won the Election for Labour/ Green / NZ First coalition.

By contrasting her honesty with the state of play, by drawing attention to the idea of honesty, she and she alone was able to re paint the perpetual backdrop of doom and gloom that the some rely on so heavily to insure that fear votes them in.
Instead, she interrupted the mainstream’s hypnosis with an incredible message, one that despite themselves, despite the way they are structured and who owns them, was sent. Her message decoded and interrupted the relevance of the War on Terror and every two bit drama distraction being piped as relevant news (what about our daily terror on this kitchen this food source some are poisoning! How about an update from those front lines! And the brave there, hiding against the shot, cause forgotten by the rest, Where are we?).
This dribble was seen as it was and it’s not like it discontinued to flow, only the filter had changed on them, the message receiving devices were for a second, not seen as forget lords to serve, but as tools intending use.
That use was highlighted by Turei, she gave us all a breather, and in that breather we recovered. We recovered the point. Incredible politics. The day a true radical is so connected to her community that the message is received at all echelons, all strata all levels, groups of society. This is the message that’s impt. to me.

Roger Boyce I simply love Metiria Turei and am awed by her bravery and persistence. However, I disagree with your analysis. I think the Greens really underestimated the mean-spiritedness of the NZ electorate. Decades of neoliberal propaganda re the working poor an...See More

Lauri Lee In-Jung Shore
Lauri Lee In-Jung Shore I think she also managed to show us true humanitarians from pseudo-lefties who took the sanctimonious moralizing tact of condemnation. I loathe to point this out to them for fear they realise they are positioning themselves on the wrong side from their attitudes. But has lead me to be quite disappointed with some friends who have no clue how ugly their attitudes are.

Wells Tao This statements likes/ shared friend numbers, are well spread between friends with little in common and those with around 200. I'm considering that may be a picture of fairly even audience penetration.

And we need common plain English, not all people have a strong vocabulary, we lose possible activist if there are too many flowery discriptive words.

We need connection, not devision.

Morgan Choveaux Yet she almost proved a point that to do as she did (very noble and highly comendable in my book) you can't be a part of mainstream politics. The fringe and the outside places always interest me more than the established places because they seem to be able to bring more and the needed things.

it was a Political Stunt.that Actually Worked for Her ..at First. The Greens Spiked up the Polls immediately after, but Then as it Happens More Truths Came out. .I.e her Mother in Law said Whenever Meteria wanted Money She sent Money as it was Their Grand Daughter.she Never had to go Without..I believe The Only reason she Spoke up at the Conference was because an Old friend threatened to Expose her past history Like the Paula Bennett stories about the Good Time Westie Girl Waitress...Then once the Story about Voting Fraud came out .or Using her Partners Address to Vote for a Friend that Finished it. I Knew her Way Back Then when she wanted to be a Lawyer to Help Young Maori with Cannabis Charges etc Legal Aid Lawyer. Her Partner was involved With Norml.so was She but did not smoke at the Meetings But Nandor .Never Did Either.as he was a True Rasta Did not Smoke socially only on religious days of the Month..
